Joe's Southern Kitchen & Bar

Located in the heart of Covent Garden is this awesome American restaurant. It is a SOUTHERN American restaurant (not South America haha) which I say makes it that much more epic! Everything was fried with an inch of its life, and I got to say- I really enjoyed it. I didn't get the chance to visit places such as Atlanta and Louisiana whilst I was in the States, and, watching a lot of Man v Food made me really want to go to this place after finding it online!!

What should I order? There was a vast variety of chicken haha!
The interior of the restaurant was really nice. It portrayed Southern American culture very well I reckon. It was very dark, warm and kind of homely. It made me feel comfortable and relax! It's not a massive restaurant, but that's irrelevant as you feel secluded at your table with your mates- well I did!

Now on to the food! We pigged out! Seriously. We got excited reading the menu- it took us back to the States and we wanted to try everything! We got lots of yummy yummy starters to share (though the others didn't like the cornbread, so I had that all to myself), and our very large mains and sexy cocktails. I got a strawberry daiquiri of course! Wouldn't have minded a larger glass though...

Our drinks: Coke, Strawberry daiquiri, Virgin mojito.

Our snacks/starters: Popcorn shrimp, Corn bred, Coq 'n' balls and Southern friend wings. The wings were everything! So succulent  crispy and meaty! And with the homemade BBQ sauce they were more than everything! They could be had for breakfast, lunch and dinner in my opinion!!

Our mains: (left) Chicken under a brick w/ Southern fried potatoes, Joe's Long Horn burger, and mine- Joe's Southern Fried Chicken! My mains was so good and seriously filing- I took two big pieces home, and that was half a bird!! Imagine I got a whole!! I'm not much of a potato person, but these well seasoned, soft potatoes hit the spot!

Let me know if you go/have been to Joe's!! :D

Uh, All American!

*Side note- the title of this post is from the song called 'No Interruptions' from Hoodie Allen- check out his rapping skillz! So hear that bit and imagine me saying the title like that haha!! Anyways...

I got my hair did! Decided to go for red (well a red, winey color) for fall! I love changing my hair as I get quite bored with styles and I am confident enough to do trail and error styles with my hair- obviously with the aim of trail and success haha. (Well, its just about getting used to it for a period of time anyways- you get me?). Anyways...Tell me what you think! :D Would love to hear your views on it-the style/color!!

Flatforms-ASOS

Saturday gone I met up with some mates of mine that I studied in California with. One of them is actually here on holiday from her homeland Taiwan and I went to surprise her at her (very lavish) hostel- and it went off without a glitch- yay! If only you could have seen her face- priceless! I'm proud that we managed to pull it off.
In anticipation of her arrival, I booked us three a table at Joe's Southern Kitchen and Bar in Covent Garden (more details in next post!) and these shots were taken on our walk there! I spotted this big red installation on the Southbank from the bridge above and was eager to take the pictures next to it!

"The Shed" by  Haworth Tompkins.

I decided to sport red, white and blue for the occasion- it was the first time us three had been reunited since chilling on campus in Cali! (Ahhh I hear you say haha!). The top is from Primark and I love it! Printed tees are really comfy cool and I liked the image on this one, quite retro and distressed looking I think. I'm looking forward to paring it with dungarees! I've had these high waisted shorts for forever now- seriously, cannot remember when I got them, but I'm glad they have lasted me soooo long. Hardly wear them, but when I do, they perk up an outfit. Finally, I decided to wear my go to flatforms with the silver glittery base for a touch of spark! The cardigan was just for when it got nippy! Which, happily, wasn't till late evening :D

Thanks Troy for taking the photos! Shot taken by Anny!
By this point he had had enough of me (as always!)! I get quite bossy and all directorial when taking pictures...opps!
With awesome Anny. (My hand looks like a claw!)
Our failed attempt at a jump shot. Trust me, we are usually much better!
THANKS for stopping by! Until next time.

Mini haul-my latest buys!

This is my first time doing a post of this sort, but I got so excited when I hit the 'confirm payment' button that I wanted to share my awesome finds with you all. This summer I haven't done THAT much shopping- which I'm pretty proud of haha! But the other day, I decided to treat myself to the AWESOME ASOS sale! I don't know about you, but I LOVE me some ASOS! Their variety is off the chain! And their sales are something else.

Here's my latest purchases from the site. Have you got them? Tell me what you think. :D

So, on the front, it's just a plain white tee...

But the back is sooo awesome with '1991' stated vertically on it!!

That's the year I made my presence on this earth, and as soon as I saw this tee I knew it was going in my shopping basket! Seriously! I have been on the lookout for a top/dress- something along these lines, and I  have seen a few before this one, but they just weren't right. Thank God this one came into my path haha.
I got it for £6 from £14 and a couple of sizes bigger to rock it as a dress sorta top. I see myself rocking it with heels and jeans. We'll see... :D
I love the color blocking and reckon they will just about go with EVERYTHING! ...

...And the satin gives it a little extra class for a heeled sandal!

I had been looking at these for a while and seeing them now on sale for £14 from £45 (!!!) I knew they had to be mine. They remind me of my black strap heels from Office, but a colorful version obviously. I love the chunky thickness of the heel too- always a plus.

I love me some monochrome, and this dress is perfect!

I love the high neck line, the midi length and the drop back. It screams sophistication and elegance to me.

I love how the ASOS designers have taken black and white and made it into such a fun, patterned , vibrant monochrome dress, full of drama! It's like it was made for me! It's a bodycon fit too, so my curves will definitely be on display! I got it in the sale for £11.50 from £35- another amazing deal!

All of my purchases are from the ASOS brand! And these pictures are off the ASOS website. ASOS is so cool and I always look forward to seeing what they have in store... don't you?! :D

Until next time.

Take back the night!

I do not want this to become a habit- but, again, sorry for the serious lack of updates. I guess you can say I have been chilling a lot this summer. Plus, it's really hard to blog (and very annoying) when you have no one to take the pictures for you. No holiday aboard this summer for me. But! I am going away to do some voluntary work for a substantial amount of time reeeeeaaaaalll soon- so watch this space!

Just the other week I met up for dinner at Shake Shack and cocktails at Chiquitos in Central, with a cool awesome friend of mine who is here from America. We had drama classes together at university, whilst I was studying in California. And let me tell you- she is a character! So American it's crazy! Haha. I love hearing her stories about her 'crazy' sorority, while in turn I tell 'harmless' stories of the co-ed fraternity I joined.

T-shirt- Primark
Necklace- Primark
Faux leather Dress (worn as a skirt)- Republic
Lipstick- Keko
Heels- Office
I decided to wear a simple, playful outfit. A little dressy dressy. Just a little. The shoes- I love! Could have come with a thicker heel though, but it's all good because they are easy to walk in. I love the sexy simplicity of them. The T-shirt reminds me of some Kanye West/ Jay-Z album artwork or something. I decided to throw it on top of the dress, as a LBD can get a bit boring sometimes, especially, if the occasion is a very casual one.

With the beautiful Savannah.
Strawberry daiquiri? Don't mind if I do!

Until next time lovlies xx

Mini Kimono

Sorry for the lack of updates. I am wearing clothes, trust me, it's just a lack of another being being with me. Anyways, currently I am in Northampton! Oh lovely Northampton. I am here for a training orientation weekend with the amazing charity Tearfund. I will be going to Rwanda soon to do my part in the fight against poverty! Stay tuned!! The weekend is consisting of talks and practical sessions, so I thought best to keep the outfit simple. These cool leggings are from F21, you may remember them from a previous post. They are so comfy and unique- love 'em!!

vest top, bag, kimono, boots - Primark
leggings- F21

The kimono and boots added some spice to the all black everything. The kimono (well small cardigan) is so lightweight and great for this weather. Alternatively, I would wear it with a formal outfit, and heels of course!

Smile. It doesn't hurt.
