The third day of our trip to The Netherlands was spent at the Special Court for Sierra Leone (SCLC), where Charles Taylor was recently convicted. We received a talk about its history, achievements and its future plans, which is to down soon. If you are interested, check out the work of the SCLC and what the communities of effected by the actions of those on trail, think about what it has achieved. After the session, we went for lunch and a wonder around Den Haag, until it was time to get the train back to Amsterdam!
Outfit-wise, I went for all black everything. It was a lovely, hot day, so may not have been the best choice but it was all good. The picture above was taken at a train station- one we wasn't meant to be at! We got lost and very much delayed!!

Back in Amsterdam, and as it was our last night there we all went to dinner together. It was a lovely night, full of laughter and such. After, we headed into Central Amsterdam to experience its nightlife for one more time...
Patiently waiting for food! Wine was flowing though!
Can you see me leaning on the 'A'? :D
The night's attire.
Whole outfit- Primark
Shoes- New Look
Excuse the fact outfit pictures were taken in

The Netherlands- Day Two

Pants, Shirt, Caridgan, Bag- Primark
Flatforms- New Look
The second day of our trip to The Netherlands was spent in Den Haag. We visited the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) where we were given talks about the functions of the ICTY and briefly watched the KARADZIC trail (more on him later). The whole trip was an amazing opportunity that I could not pass up, as being an opportunist and an individual that is VERY VERY (have I emphasised that enough?!) passionate about international criminal law, seeing this trail gave me more hope in humanity and that justice has a chance of prevailing. I took pictures outside-for outfit purposes too- as visitors are not permitted to take pictures inside.

The ICTY

During our time at the ICTY we had the chance to have an audience with the really down to earth Peter Robinson and his interns. Mr Robinson is an amazing lawyer aiding Karadzic in his trail, even though Karadzic has chosen to defend himself. We were informed of his legal background and Karadzic's past, the current status of his trail, as well as what the whole process would entail. Mr Robinson is an incredibly humble and intelligent lawyer who didn't hold anything back- giving up his honest opinions and all in the Q&A!
Karadzic has been accused by the ICTY of genocide, crimes against humanity and violations of the laws and customs of war. For more information on Karadzic's trail, check out this link, where now he is demanding the dismissal of his case! Read up more about him you are interested in international criminal law like myself, he is a character!

Upon writing this, I aimed to make the content quite brief, not to bore my lovely readers not interested in  law. But law is one of the many things I am passionate about- so I wanted to give it justice. No pun intended.
The only picture taken with Mr Peter Robinson (middle). Sorry, it's blurry.
The whole gang!
Hope you enjoyed reading and liked my 'smart' look!

The Netherlands-Day One.

I AM BACK! Yes! I am back! Haha. Apologies for ignoring you lovely people and shame on me for not blogging more. I can't believe I didn't blog for the whole month of June! (tut tut Shannie!)... I am forgiven?

Well, since my last post, life has been pretty chill- thank God. I have finished my exams (can we say academic weight lost! :D), moved out of my university accommodation and got back to work. I now have time to chill- a mate of mine said that I should 'appreciate the chill', which I guess I am doing before I know things get hectic again. It is lovely to be surrounded by my family again, no matter how much my little sis annoys me. Oh, and I went to The Netherlands, that's what this post is really about- so lets get to it! Haha.

I love flying! Could be on a plane forever!
Seven fellow (and now former) undergraduate law students and myself, along with two of our law lectures spent a few days in The Netherlands to attend court proceedings and have audiences with some very senior, highly respectable people in the international criminal law field. That was the educational part of the trip, the other part was to experience Dutch life and its attractions in the short time we had there. Three of us decided to fly there (JUST slightly more than the return coach ticket!) and we arrived a day early. The first day was nice and very chilled. We met other travelers and had fun with them in the city of Amsterdam!

Arrival outfit!
Disco pants, Crop Top, Jacket, Bag- all Primark
Flatforms-New Look
Necklace-ASOS
I went for a comfy look to travel in (obviously-why wouldn't you?!) and also a look I can continue to wear when I reached my destination- though I changed my top once we reached our hostel, as it was seriously windy.

his artwork was seriously dope!

really admired the intricate detail of this ring- shame about the extortionate price!

Dinnertime!! Majority of workers were Assuie!

Stripe shirt- boutique in NYC.
Go big or go home!
S IS FOR SHANTÉ! Night fun on the 'I AMSTERDAM' sign.

I wanted some Magnum! Shame it was closed, I would have brought the shop!
Dress- Primark.
That's day one done! It was fun! Nice introduction into Amsterdam life. We had an early start though- we had to catch the train to The Hague (Den Haag) to meet the others and go to the ICTY! That's for the next post! Stay tuned!
