Flashback Friday!!

I was given the fantastic opportunity to study in China at East China Normal University for  summer school last year. I had the most amazing, remember able time out there, exploring Beijing, Shanghai and other incredible towns. Experiencing such a vivid culture first hand was just awesome- from the food to the people, I loved every minute of it! (even if I fell asleep in Chinese Politics occasionally, I still appreciated every moment haha). And as you can tell from this picture, I loved the rain too!! The rain in China is different to what I am used to with British rain- I can wear flip flops in it! It’s a rain where it is still warm and not too unpleasant. But don’t get me wrong, when it rains, it pours!

This photo was taken after a really long day of visiting Confucius temple and spending the afternoon with our assigned Chinese families. My mate and I wanted to walk through the buzzing streets despite the rain, and we were a little peckish- so we got ice creams! It was delicious, even with the added flavor!

Have you been to China? How was it for you?

When your clothes tell a Story...

Another cold day in the U.K. Though actually, the sun reared its little head now and then-just stay please! I don’t know about you but I am looking forward to summer! Today I went for my go to coat, think, warm and loveable! Haha. I decided to pair it with my t-shirt dress I brought from London Fashion Weekend three years ago (! Time, where did you go?!) It is from ‘Buddhist Punk’ and it came with matching pants too!! I love the design and when I first got it, I wore it all the time! Still love it! I get thrills of the multiple ways I can wear it, here’s just one- stay tuned! :D Today, I teamed it with my limited edition H&M leggings. I love the story they tell. Such a detailed pattern on leggings- they are comfy and different from your average black run-of- the- mill leggings! As for the lion round my neck, I picked him up in China. After bargaining a lot (they thinking I'm made of money) I managed to cop it for roughly £6 (60 yuan), which I reckon was a great deal, comparing prices of Topshop and such! I love head accessories! who doesn't?! Haven't worn my hat in a while, and thought it would be practical today to keep my head warm and hair in check- well it did it's job, somewhat! Haha

Here is the information on what I got, where:
  • Coat-River Island
  • Bowlers hat- Portobello Rd
  • T-shirt dress- Buddist Punk @ London Fashion Weekend
  • Leggings-H&M
  • Sneaker wedges- Mr.shoes.com

Hope you all had a good day! Two days until the Law Ball! Ooooooo excited!!

Me Against The Elements

Today was horrid! Weather wise . I ask, why is snowing when we are meant to be in ‘spring’?? Mother Nature sort yourself out love! Haha. As you can tell from the pictures I was literally having a fight with the elements, and bless my friend for taking the pictures, we were freezing our butts off. Trust me, hundreds of layers could not help you in this weather!

As always stated, I like to rock comfy outfits to university as I am just going from one place to the next. Today I kept it real casual (with slight edge-the jacket) with high waist jeans and trainers. Uber-comfy and warm (I layered my jeans!). I love this tee of mine!! I have actually lost weight recently (hence the jeans looking a little baggy – I don’t care, love this pair!) and now this tee is a t-shirt dress! Yes! Two in one! The whole shirt says ‘eight grade was awesome’. Saw it for $10 in a thrift store in Sacramento, California and wanted to cop it right away. That wasn't to be L There was a waiting list for it. The person had to collect it before a certain day, if not, it would be mine. And obviously you know how the story ends, they didn’t come back for it, so hey ho, it became my go-to piece whilst in the States. I actually haven’t worn it in a good few months, and wearing it made me reminisce about all the good times. Plus! I met a bunch of Awesome Americans today here for their spring break so that got me talking too! Haha.

Here is the information on what I got, where:
  • Jeans-Primark
  • Trainers-Foot Locker
  • T-shirt-thrift store in Sacramento
  • Faux Fur Jacket- River Island (has been in my wardrobe for over 4 years!)

Hope you had a good day! And if you’re in this weather- doesn’t it suck?! I say think ‘beach’.

Liebster Blog Award!

My blog is just over a week old and I am so grateful for all the attention it has been receiving. So much so that I have been nominated twice (!) for the Liebster Award. This is such a great idea to get new blogs known! I have been nominated by Issie and Collennx- thanks ladies, love your blogs.

Both have different tasks set out for me to do, so I’ll begin with the nomination I received first from Issie.

1.  Why did you start Blogging?

I started because I thought it would be a great idea to have a centralized place where I can put what I get up to in life, to look back on outfits and events that make life worth living. I have always wanted to start one after reading various blogs religiously for years. I am glad I finally took the plunge and look forward to seeing where my new baby takes me.

2. What has been your experience with blogging so far?

I has been great, can’t complain. The blogging world is really nice.
When I read comments, they make me smile and glad that I shared this piece of my life with you all instead of holding it to myself in an album on my laptop, which was the case before.

3. How old are you and what do you see yourself doing in the future?

I have just turned 22. I know my destiny is already laid out for me and I am looking forward to discovering what God has in store for me. I study law and love it, and I also love acting. Oh, and many other things; fashion, the arts; child care-the list can go on! For the future, we will see won’t we…

Check out my second post on the Liebster Award for answers to the other questions and who I nominate!

Will, Desire, Urge.

The will to win, the desire to succeed, the urge to
reach your full potential…these are the keys that will unlock the door to personal excellence.’ Confucius.

Everyone wants to succeed. No matter what your goal is, you have to make sure you have the rights skills and mindset to get you there. We all face setback and rejection, whether it is from failed applications or people in your life telling you you can't make it-used them as motivation for you to continue to get to where you are destined to be. Have faith.

Hope Confucius inspires you this week.

Flashback Friday!

This picture was taken in Davis, California, in November 2011. I went sky diving!! It was soooooooooo awesome! I was obviously a little scared, but being the opportunist that I am, I could not let this adventure past me! It is such an awesome experience. Seriously, you should try it if you get the chance!
I was screaming though I obviously could not be heard and just received a mouth of gushing air in return! Haha! The tranquil bit came when the parachute was pulled and my instructor and I were simply cruising in the sky! Floating around, admiring the view until we safely landed. I purchased the video that was made of my dive, and every time I laugh seeing that I wrote 'I'm flying w/out wings' on my hands and rocked red lips, and, I can't help but say ‘Did I really do that?!’.

Have you done it before? How did you find it?
