Wild like the Weather!

Remember- hug a tree, they are your friends :D

As the title suggest, the weather was wild! Surprise, surprise! Well. Not really. This is England, and in terms of weather-anything goes. Just really sucks that we are nearly in April and this is what we are getting!! Rain, sleet and snow, and all that jazz that comes with them. I just want to be a on a beach already!! Who’s with me??

Today was the last day of the semester- oh my! The end in drawing so so so nigh! It is the time of year for me to buckle down and focus solely on revision and making sure I know my stuff for my upcoming exams. So apologies in advance for the lack of posts in the upcoming months. I hope you understand that that will be my main priority. I will however post for respite- my blog will now become my stress ball! Haha.

I kept it pretty simple with dress today. Just saw in on my rail and bunged it on! I haven’t worn this dress (from RI) in a while, its thin, so I wore a mini under it. I paired it with my khaki jacket and my go-to wine colored cardigan. I love this garment, I’ve had it for years. Brought in the Topshop sale for £20, from £40 (!!!!). It goes well with lots of different outfits. Finally, I went for my cheap and cheerful flats from Primark. Now, I’m not one to be getting shoes from Primark, especially because they inevitably have a short life expectancy, but with flats, its fine I reckon, I’m just not expecting to have them long!

As you can see, I went a little crazy this photo shoot, getting in the midst of the greens and getting my model on! It was fun!

Have an awesome week lovelies.

Flashback Friday!!

I was given the fantastic opportunity to study in China at East China Normal University for  summer school last year. I had the most amazing, remember able time out there, exploring Beijing, Shanghai and other incredible towns. Experiencing such a vivid culture first hand was just awesome- from the food to the people, I loved every minute of it! (even if I fell asleep in Chinese Politics occasionally, I still appreciated every moment haha). And as you can tell from this picture, I loved the rain too!! The rain in China is different to what I am used to with British rain- I can wear flip flops in it! It’s a rain where it is still warm and not too unpleasant. But don’t get me wrong, when it rains, it pours!

This photo was taken after a really long day of visiting Confucius temple and spending the afternoon with our assigned Chinese families. My mate and I wanted to walk through the buzzing streets despite the rain, and we were a little peckish- so we got ice creams! It was delicious, even with the added flavor!

Have you been to China? How was it for you?

The day after the fun.

After all the fun that occurred last night, it was back to school for me. I have to say, I was quite tired for most of the day, doing my best to listen in lectures (I ended up dozing off in Mandarin- just for like 5 minutes though!). Today I went for a simple put together outfit. The weather was crap, and by default I went for my khaki parka coat! I love this bad boy, it has been in my life for a good 5 years now would you believe?! I feel like I wear it all the time! It is so warm and comfy, and in this weather, I can’t think of anything else I would want to rock.

Do you recognize the t-shirt brand? It’s a clothing company called ‘The Hundreds’. I discovered them whilst I was studying in the States and copped this piece when I was shopping in San Francisco. ‘The Hundreds’ are pretty dope. I like the versatility of the brand and it how can be easily rocked by guys and girls. I also got this bag whilst in the States. I went shopping in Miami and saw this bag in 'Coach'. I really like the brand ‘Coach’ – well, the mature, elegant side of me does haha. I saw this and thought it would be great for when I return for final year to carry all my books- and it is! It’s durable and a great size! I went for flats to give my feet a little rest from wearing heels yesterday-wrong choice in this sucky weather!

Here is the information on what I got, where:
  • t-shirt: The Hundreds
  • skirt: Forever 21 in America
  • flats-Primark
  • Parka jacket: River Island (all those many, many years ago!)
  • bag: Coach
