BUDAPEST 2014! Part One.

Warning: pictures galore!!

I'm more of a visual person, so I'm letting the pictures do most of the talking!

For four days in (late) May, I went for a break away with two of my closest friends- Christel (Butter) and Amirah (Valu) to BUDAPEST!! The names in brackets are what I normally call them- for some reason, I hardly refer to their first names haha!

Anyways, have you been to Budapest? What a wonderful city, right?! I was forever in awe of its beautiful architecture, people and cool vibe. The sun shining bright on us for the whole holiday definitely added to my enjoyment of it (only to come back to a rainy London *cry*- we in June, no?!). The girls and I had lots of fun organising and researching about Budapest beforehand. It's a place not well traveled by us Brits. But there is so much to do and see! WILL be going back! Four days is not enough, but perfect for a short trip. *note to self: take more short trips*

So, here are some pictures from day one and two of our holiday! Enjoy! xx

Calling it a night!

We arrived at our apartment in the afternoon, unpacked and relaxed for a bit. The apartment was awesome- just prefect! Couldn't have wanted anything more. 'Airbnb' is the way forward. (Cheers Gomez). For our first day, we decided to tour the city, visiting malls and such- mainly by foot. We checked out the Hungarian Parlament-simply stunning. We were there for a while as we needed to have some R and R from all the walking, and there was some lobbying happening outside, which caught our interest. 

What a beautiful city! We ended the day with a food trip to Aldi, haha. We stocked up our apartment with nibble and wine (of course)! I felt like I was home already, like I was studying aboard again or something!! Haha! 

DAY TWO.

Tuesday was jam packed with visiting various areas of Budapest- obviously. We started with a trip to Heroes Square to see some lovely art in the Museum of Fine Art. Some workers there were very moody- they were looking as pessimistic as some of the people in the portraits, Gomez may say! Haha! From there, we traveled to the Buda side of Budapest. now, this side is more historic and gives a GREAT view of the whole of Parlament. Here we visited Buda Castle, its labyrinth (where Dracula is supposedly buried- ooooooooooo), St. Matthis Church and Fisherman's Bastion. We stopped for some R and R and ice cream, in this lovely spot where we all got serenaded by these guys playing various instruments. 

We then headed back to the Pest side of Budapest- some say the 'outgoing' side, and had dinner at this lovely restaurant, 'ES', attached to the Kempinski Hotel. We all had baby chicken, with various sides and it was very enjoyable. Eating alfresco on a sunny day, in a foreign  country- LOVE! 

We then ended the day with a trip to Szimpla, in Astoria. Szimpla is one of Budapest's best known ruin bar and I saw why. We had a great time! Cheap drinks, good music and great vibes. I met up with the blogger Susie of beautywithplus- I met her at #BPSFW. She introduced us to her friends and they showed us more of Budapest at night, after we moved on from Szimpla. All in all, it was a good night ... someone even tried to sell us carrots in the bar!! Okay.... haha!

CFDA Awards: My 10 best dressed.

The CFDA Awards were held a couple of days ago in New York City, and the fashion was better than ever! Everyone looked stunning and loads of celebrities went daring. (Why not, eh??!) It was hard for me to make a top 10- I had loads more on the shortlist. Anyways, check it out! My top 10 best dressed!

TEN

I am a lover of dramatic looks, and this one definitely takes the prize for one of the most dramatic looks of the night! Coco is awesome- she is rocking this 'fit to a t!! Monochrome always works and this hat is 'interesting' shall I say... Still love. Haha!.

NINE

This dress is something else! The black! The sparkles! Yes! Yes! And yes! Chanel. Suits you perfectly girl. It screams elegance. And the natural make up and hair style give it something extra. Great job chic!

EIGHT

No who does love a clean, crisp, sharp jumpsuit? Well, I do. And this simple look is very effective. I love a good all white outfit! And the styling is top notch! Best way to rock this- hoop and slicked back hair.

SEVEN

I LOVE the cut out this outfit- the crop and different hem lengths! YES!! The colour and print is pretty too. Great co-ord set. The heels are the perfect pairing too I feel. I would love to rock this style of outfit with like a flower print ALL OVER! Let me know if you find such a 'fit! Send it my way (well a link to it online haha).

SIX

This colour is AMAZE on Chrissy. Simply stunning. It's really cute and perfect for summer. The nude heels work perfectly with the look and the blazer is a great topping. Even a crisp white blazer would work I think!

FIVE

This is my colour!!! And the voluptuousness of it- is just pure divine! Ahhhhh!! It's love. It looks stunning with slicked back hair. I also think Hollywood waves would look great too. Basically, I want this dress. That is all. 

FOUR

Now, undoubtedly, Rihanna received the most press for her choice of outfit. Obviously. Now, it is stunning- the bling makes it so. And of course Rihanna looks hot- she has the confidence and knows her body. So... even if you don't like the 'fit, use it as inspiration to wear something that you may shy away from, though you have always wanted to. Rock it with confidence!! Personally, I like the shawl, it looks do warm and fluffy.

THREE

As you may know, I am a lover of mixing prints. It can look 'mad', but as long as there is something 'relateable' in each piece, then it should work. If not, then it should work too-again, it is all about the confidence! I love the colours and prints in this frock- they all compliment each other. This is an ideal summer dress and with your hair swept away from your face, this outfit says sophisticated beach party. Love.

TWO

Solange never fails to look good. Whether it be prints, colour blocking or elegant dresses, this girl knows how to dress. This dress is perfect on her- similar to the style of Naomi's, that's why I love it- and with this hair!! Yes! Go girl! I perhaps would have seen how this would have looked with some heavy earring to be (somehow) featured. Nevertheless. the rings, clutch and nail colour vamp up the dress even more.

ONE

Ahhhhh Naomi!! Girl, you look a million bucks! This dress is outstanding, I can only image what it looked like in person. It captures the light perfectly. Loving the hair too- but I'm thinking a sharp edge bob would give this look a different edge. I would love to rock this for sure!! I mean, who wouldn't ... just have to make it more 'fuller bust friendly' ... haha!

Blending in to the walls...

This post is all about the top. Well, I'll quickly mention the heels. I copped these beauties in Urban Outfitters in Sacramento, California for a whopping $20!! They were on sale and I did not hesitate! Obviously. I love the wooden heel, it's different from your standard. They are very high too! :D

Now, the top. I found this top whilst vintage shopping in Portsmouth. They are not colours I would normally wear together, but I took a liking to the the elastic waistband (I'm thinking crop top here) and the uniqueness of the print. Then again, it's all about having the confidence to make it work!!

I look about 16 here! Haha! Woo hoo to looking young haha!
